Joseph Pilates introduced Pilates into America in the 1920’s as a way to help injured athletes and dancers safely return to exercise and maintain their fitness.
Today, Pilates takes many forms but the original practice still underpins all of them. Pilates lengthens and stretches all the major muscle groups in your body to bring them into balance and strengthen the foundation found at your core. Each movement follows a prescribed rhythm and breathing pattern.
Within the classes, your muscles are never worked to complete exhaustion. Low repetitions, and precise movements ensure intense focused concentrated muscle work, and maximum benefit for your body.
Our classes are a stronger practice, but still perfect for those new to Pilates, those wanting to continue and progress their practice, and are suitable for rehabilitation from injury, and post pregnancy.

Our focused small classes of 10-12 people ensure your postures are precise and the results magnified. Due to the individual attention, this method can suit everybody from the more athletic, to people with limited mobility, pre and post baby, and people with low fitness levels. All our mid morning Pilates classes are child friendly.
